Express F Train Still A Pipe Dream

There has been a lot of hype this morning on the news feeds about the possibility of the MTA restoring an express F train service, which would run from Coney Island to Manhattan. With apologies to Brooklyn Paper, who has all of their readers salivating at the thought of the idea, it looks like it’s the stuff of dreams, according to a report by the New York Daily News.

The Daily News cites an anonymous source in the MTA who suggested that there simply aren’t enough trains in service to allow for a new express F to connect Southern Brooklyn and Manhattan.

If you remember, an express F train like the one suggested once existed, but last ran in 1987.

This should come as no surprise to anyone born in the last 30 years who has never read a single positive story regarding the MTA, ever.
