Thanks to an 8-year-old neighbor with an eye for justice and her father, we discovered that the Dunkin’ Donuts at 1506 Cortelyou Road wants to hire an only-male staff.

Neighbor Kacy Wiggins passed this photo on to us of the Dunkin’ Donuts hiring sign, which his daughter encouraged him to take a photo of and which states that they want “male staff only” — something that we’re pretty sure is illegal. The city Equal Employment Practices Commission states:

The New York City Human Rights Law prohibits discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations based on race, color, creed, age, national origin, alienage or citizenship status, gender (including gender identity and sexual harassment), sexual orientation, disability, or marital status.

We called Dunkin’ Donuts several times today to ask them about the sign but have yet to be able to reach anyone. We have also reached out to their corporate office.
