We have good news if you haven’t already signed up for locally grown produce this year — the Ditmas Park CSA has extended its registration deadline to May 15.

The CSA is doing a big push for neighbors to sign up, as the season is currently in danger of not happening. Right now, the CSA has about 130 households who are working to make the 2015 season happen — but that’s not enough to meet the minimum number of shares the farmer needs in order to go forward with the season.

What does all of this mean? Basically, the CSA has 10 days to sign up 50 additional households.

Provided it can go forward, the CSA’s 20-week season will kick off in June, bringing neighbors vegetables, eggs, fruit, and more from farmer Jorge Carmona of Amantai Farm in Pennsylvania. Full shares, not including any add-ons, will cost $680 and half-shares will cost $455, and there’s an administrative fee of $30 (for both full and half shares) to cover the expenses of running the CSA.

For the full details about the season, distribution, prices, and add-ons, you can visit the CSA’s website here, and the online registration form can be found here.

If you’d like to join but aren’t sure our household can eat that much produce, you can email ditmasparkcsa@gmail.com to be connected with another household that wants to split a share.
