Dear City, We’ve Got Some Trees That Need Pruning
The City Council has almost doubled the city’s tree pruning budget, adding $2 million to its existing $1.45 million allotment. Hopefully that extra pruning will cut down on limbs falling on and injuring or killing people, which aside from the terrible human toll, has cost the city $7.69 million on just five recent settled cases alone.
A couple of months ago, we took a look at the state of some of our big, old trees, and wasn’t looking good. Guess what? It’s still not.
So attention parks department–here is just a small sampling of street trees in Ditmas Park that need your attention urgently. We’ll add them to this map as well. If any readers have any to add, let us know.
