Dance, Drum & Imagination Summer Camp
A Creative Space for Children to Unleash Their Imaginations
July 9 – August 3, 2018
Early Bird Discount by April 23
At Cumbe, our goal is to tap into children’s amazing capacity for imagination and wonder, while introducing them to the joy and vitality of dance, song and rhythms of Africa and its Diaspora. We believe children learn through fun and play, so we design our lessons with that in mind.
Our intimate camp includes cohorts of 14 students empowering teachers to properly serve your child. Campers will learn how to work with others, exchange ideas and create a production they are proud to share. At the end of each two-week session, campers and instructors put on a show demonstrating all they’ve done.
This year’s themes:
Hakuna Matata: Kings, Lions and Other African Wonders
July 9 – July 20 Campers will immerse themselves in different African cultures through drum, song, dance, storytelling, games and crafts.
Singing Frogs and Talking Fish: Diving through the Caribbean Sea
July 23 – August 3 Through drum & song, games, stories, food, steel-drum making and other crafts, young explorers will learn about Haiti, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and other Caribbean locales.
