First, the Jewish kids’ band conquered Good Day NY. Now, after a few hundred thousand plays on YouTube, Mama Doni is coming to Temple Beth Emeth. Dubbed “one of the hottest names in Chanukah-oriented indie alt-rock music” by arbiter of taste Joel McHale on The Soup, the band is performing at Beth Emeth on December 8 at 11:00 a.m. It’ll cost $20 per family and $15 for temple members.

How best to describe Mama Doni? Zany, says the Boston Globe. Wacky, writes the Star-Ledger. Her name sounds as if she belongs on a jar of pasta sauce, says the New York Times. What more can we say?

Most importantly, there will be a bake sale during the concert to support Hurricane Sandy victims.
