Brooklynites gather outside Borough Hall to #endfamilyseparation
DOWNTOWN – Around 6 pm yesterday, hundreds of residents were gathered outside the city hall to oppose President Trump’s recent policy separating children from parents who have entered the country without proper papers, pending immigration hearings.
Congresswoman Yvette Clarke objected to Session’s use of the Bible, reminding in this country it was also used to justify slavery:
Despite what Trump’s spokesperson Sanders said, there is no law mandating such separation, which most consider cruel.
Earlier this week, 40 democratic senators called on President Trump to end his administration’s “inhumane decision” to separate children from their parents at the border (Mother Jones has the letter).
