Brooklyn Wort Moves From Sycamore To Gowanus, Tickets Available Now
Brooklyn Wort, the homebrew competition presented by Sycamore and Brooklyn Homebrew that invites amateur beer makers to go head to foamy head for a $1,000 prize, is back on Sunday, September 8 from 1-5pm. Though the summer event has traditionally been held at Sycamore, with the basement and backyard closed for the moment, this round will be taking place at The Bell House, 149 7th Street in Gowanus.
Tickets are on sale now, and here’s what the $40 entrance fee gets you: A taste of 30 beers, which have been judged down from the original 85+ entries, a plate of food from Zito’s Sandwich Shop, and a vote for your favorite of all the beers.
If you like beer and you’ve never been, it’s a pretty fun way to spend an afternoon — not only is the range of beers really impressive, but you can talk with the brewers to find out what makes each of their sudsy beverages so interesting. The event has been known to sell out in the past, and even though The Bell House is a big space, if you’re considering buying tickets, do it soon!
