UPDATE: Authorities Say Gunman Takes Own Life After Shooting Two

[Updates below.] At least one man was shot Monday morning on 13th Street in Gowanus, and the shooter remains barricaded at the scene, police say.

Calls came in around 11:15am, and the NYPD reports one man was shot in the chest and the torso. The FDNY says the victim was taken to Lutheran Hospital, but was unable to say what the status of his injuries are.

The FDNY also reports there is at least one other shooting victim, but did not know any additional details.

Police say the shooter is barricaded in an office and that the building at 65 13th Street at Hamilton Pl — which, according to Facebook, is the address of C&A Ironworks — has been evacuated. Reports on Twitter claim authorities may be investigating an explosive device at the scene, but the NYPD was unable to confirm.

Update 2:30pm: According to the FDNY, the shooter, who’s name has not been released, has taken his own life, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness tells the Post that the shooter came into C&A Ironworks this morning inquiring about a job, before firing about eight shots in 10 minutes.

This is a developing story, and we will update as we learn more.
