BREAKING: Car Vs. Storefront On Nostrand Avenue

A car smashed into a Nostrand Avenue storefront between Avenue Y and Avenue Z, in a two-car accident that left at least one injured.

Police and other emergency responders are on the scene as of this writing. According to tipster Gene Berardelli, who sent the photos, it appeared as if the silver four door car was pulling out of a parking space in front of Nostrand Ice Cream Shop (3824 Nostrand Avenue) when a red minivan pulling behind it struck it, pushing the silver car onto the sidewalk and into the storefront.

It did not appear as if any pedestrians were injured, though a passenger in the red minivan was put in an ambulance at the scene. The storefront received relatively minor damage, with the door hanging off its hinges, according to Berardelli.
