Another Bank Robbery Last Week, And Police Say It’s the Same Suspect

There was yet another bank robbery in the area, and police say they’re looking for the same suspect they were after for the last two, which took place on the same day in May.

The most recent robbery took place on Friday, July 7, at 11am. Police say the suspect walked into Astoria Federal Savings Bank at 1045 Flatbush Ave (at Duryea), where he passed one of the tellers a note demanding money. The teller complied, and the suspect fled the bank with an undetermined amount of money.

The other two robberies both occurred on Monday, May 21–the first at the HSBC 815 Flatbush Ave, then the second about five hours later at the Sovereign on Newkirk Plaza.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25-35 years old, 6’0-6’3″tall, between 240-260 pounds, with a goatee.

Police say the suspect wore dark shades and a hat, and that during the second incident he had reddish facial brown facial hair and wore a grey hooded sweatshirt and a black puffy vest.

Anyone with information in regards to this robbery is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. You can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES), then then entering TIP577. Police say all calls are kept confidential.
