Collision Reports Now Available Online To Involved Parties

Sheepshead Bay Councilman Chaim Deutsch has made it easier for all drivers involved in a car collission to get the accident reports necessary to file insurance claims.

While previously the only way to get an accident report was to turn up at the precinct in person, now the involved parties can go to Collision Report Retrieval Portal online.

The bill passed unanimously last week.  “I am grateful for the partnership of the NYPD and the support of my New York City Council colleagues, who unanimously voted for Intro 1280-B.  This vote was a victory for any New York motorist involved in a collision, who will be saved from wasted time and aggravation.”

The particulars: To make sure that only involved parties get access to the documents, you will need to have your license plate number, driver’s license ID number, and the date of the accident handy. You will then be emailed a pin code, which will finally give you access to the site to print the report.
