A Ramadan Mubarak To Our Readers!

Last night marked the start of the Muslim month-long holy festival of Ramadan. On this holiday, observing Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, ending each day with a glorious feast. However, the ill and those traveling are exempt from fasting, especially if it poses health risks.

During Ramada, Muslims pray the Taraweeh, a prayer performed only during Ramadan. Ramadan ends with the Eid al-Fitr festival, which includes feasts and gifts.

Muslim organizations estimate that there are 7 million Muslims in the U.S.
