9/11 Photo Finish: As We Rise

Local reporter Neil Friedman took the above photograph on July 28, 2011, during a tour of the World Trade Center site.

Building at left is One World Trade Center, formerly called Freedom Tower, next to Seven World Trade Center. In the foreground is the National September 11 Memorial and Museum that honors victims of the September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993, World Trade Center terrorists attacks, as well as those first responders who risked their lives in the search and rescue aftermath. It opens to public tomorrow.

  1. It will always be referred to as the “Freedom Tower” by proud Americans & New Yorkers, even if this symbolic celebration of our liberty might offend those who despise us. I for one will not let my feelings or beliefs be dictated by our spineless politicians who want to appease our enemies.

  2. Can we make these Be able to Withstand a plane Crash….. you know like the empire state building was built Well!  Everyone remember this?

I sometimes ask myself the same question and have been for 10 years now….  Why is that a Plane hit the empire state at 1945 left only a hole.  WTC was hit by 2 planes and went down in Minutes after it got hit..

I Guess these questions will never be answered 🙁

However lets hope for the best!  NYC!
