88th Precinct Crime Statistics: No Robberies Or Burglaries, But A Jump In Grand Larcenies
The good news: there were no murders, rapes, robberies or burglaries this past week.
The not-so-good news: felony assaults ticked up since last week (from 1 to 2), auto thefts inched up (from 0 to 3), and grand larcenies jumped back up (from 5 to 12). Overall, there were 17 crimes reported in the major crime categories this latest week compared to 10 the week before.
In the other categories, there were no transit crimes or shootings, and housing crimes dropped from 3 to 1. But petit larcenies went from 10 to 11, misdemeanor assaults went from 6 to 12, and misdemeanor sex crimes went from 0 to 2.
The next 88th Precinct Community Council meeting is next Tuesday, March 17 at 7pm at Atlantic Terminal (exact location within the terminal TBD).
CompStat reports are produced by the New York Police Department on a weekly basis. We publish the week’s statistics for the 88th Precinct reports every week. The 88th Precinct is the police command that oversees Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
