7 New Food Spots In South-Western Brooklyn

A bunch of new places have popped up in South-Western Brooklyn in the last few months and we are looking forward to trying them and letting you know what we think soon. In the meantime, here they are:

BENSONHURST/GRAVESEND:

Shardeni Espresso Bar – Located at 210 Kings Highway, (718) 975 2888. Nespresso coffee, Georgian owner, live music.  Check out their Instagram @shardeniespressobar to get a feel for the place.  Open daily from 8am-11pm, and until 1am on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays.

BENSONHURST/BATH BEACH

India’s Curry at 1926 Bath Avenue (at 20th Street), opened at the very end of January and has quickly become a favorite, judging by Yelp reviews.

Fantasy Rice Roll – at 9 Bay 22nd. opened in March, and offers fresh fruit drinks, acai bowls, and rice rolls ($3.50) – healthy options perfectly located across from 24 Hour Fitness. Open from 10:30 am to 9 pm most days.

Em Vietnamese – at 1702 86th street we already wrote about and very much recommend.

Yue Xin Restaurant – a new Cantonese Dim Sum place at 2172 86th Street where the old Charisma Bay used to be, steps from Bay Parkway D train. Current Yelp reviews a bit mixed.

BAY RIDGE:

Piccante – a new Italian spot to check out at 7214-A 3rd Avenue (at 72nd street). Open 11am-11pm daily except for Mondays. Looking forward to trying their homemade pasta.

El Malecon – 8727 4th Avenue (at 87th Street) is a new spot that bills itself as Spanish & American.
