A man was arrested for impersonating an NYPD officer last week when he ran into none other than the 62nd Precinct’s Captain William Taylor with his fake sirens blaring.

Christopher Agoglia, 41, was stuck in traffic on the corner of Bay 29th Street and Benson Avenue at approximately 10:15am, on Friday, April 17, so he flicked on his sirens and lights in an attempt to bypass other cars, cops said. Also waiting at the intersection was Captain Taylor, who pulled over Agoglia’s 2008 GMC Acadia and discovered him to be in possession of an unauthorized police radio and windbreaker, according to the NYPD.

“This man made a huge mistake while driving thru the 62 pct using his lights and sirens and tried to go around none other then Me in traffic,” Captain Taylor tweeted on Friday.

JP Updates reports that Agoglia told the captain he got the jacket from his mother-in-law who is a retired school crossing guard.

The wannabe cop was charged with criminal impersonation of a police officer and operating a vehicle with excessive tint, according to police. If found guilty, Agoglia could face up to a year in jail.
