KCTL builds and maintains tennis courts at NYCHA developments in Brooklyn to promote youth development and community building. The new Ingersoll Houses site is the non-profit’s first outside of Bed-Stuy and its first indoor facility.

Along with the Ingersoll Houses, KCTL offers tennis programs at five public housing developments in Bed-Stuy including the Marcy Houses, Tompkins Houses, Sumner Houses, Jackie Robinson (Brevoort Houses), and Lafayette Gardens.

Launched in 2010 at the Marcy Houses, KCTL offers tennis lessons year round.

“As KCTL enters its tenth year of operation, we are thrilled to celebrate the expansion of our youth tennis programming, which has increased by more than 25% over last year, offering more students many more new opportunities to play tennis,” KCTL’s Executive Director, David Webley, said in a release announcing the new site.

“Ingersoll takes us another significant step forward towards our vision of giving every child in Brooklyn regular access to an activity that is healthy, stimulates their personal growth, and exposes them to new concepts, cultures, people, and possibilities,” he added.
