Yooberry — the frozen yogurt shop on Sheepshead Bay Road — is planning a major overhaul that will eliminate its bright pink and green colors and replace them with a new “vintage look.”

Owner Yagiz Kilic said the renovations might even include a name change, though he’s still working out the details. He expects the work to begin sometime next month. The purpose of the change is to transform the frozen yogurt store into a year-round destination. Besides giving it a new look, he plans to stock additional offerings like coffee, smoothies, protein drinks and juices.

“It’s tough to survive the winter time when you’re only selling frozen yogurt,” he said.

Yooberry opened on Sheepshead Bay Road, at the corner of East 15th Street, a little more than three years ago. Business has been strong, Kilic said, but he wants to bring in more revenue during the winter months — when a cup of frozen yogurt is a tough sell.

And to signal that the store has more to offer than the sweet stuff — he’s giving it a brand new look. The renovations will swap out the kid-friendly colors for wood paneling as well as green and black paint.

“We want the colors to be more organic and to kind of have a vintage look,” Kilic explained.

Good luck on your new venture, Yooberry!
