With A Whole Lot Of Books Left, Cortelyou Library Sale Continues Tomorrow
The Cortelyou Library Friends got so many books from generous neighbors last time around, they’re having another sale tomorrow from 2-4pm.
“Thank you to everyone who came out last weekend to support the Cortelyou library by both donating and buying books,” says Elisabeth Parker of the Friends group. “We made nearly $750, a portion of which will go to the Gerritsen Beach branch as a thank you to librarian extraordinaire Christine Dille who was based at the Cortelyou library for 11 months while the Gerritsen branch was closed due to Hurricane Sandy.”
The sale will be held on the library plaza (corner of Argyle and Cortelyou), or inside the library in case of bad weather.
Elisabeth says only two things are needed for another successful sale: gently used children’s books (which can be donated at the library up until tomorrow), and volunteers to help with the event between 1:30 and 4:30pm tomorrow. If you would like to volunteer, email cortelyoulibraryfriends@gmail.com.
