Winter PSA – Stay Warm City Says

The City just issued its latest notification urging all New Yorkers to prepare for the upcoming extremely cold weather. National Weather Service is forecasting average temperatures to be just 19 degrees for the next seven days – that’s 10 -15 degrees below what we usually get this time of the year, and just single digits at night.

In short – stay indoors, if you have to go out, dress warmly.  Check on your neighbors, friends, and relatives, especially the elderly and those with disabilities. People most likely to be exposed to dangerous cold include those who lack shelter, work outdoors and/or live in homes with malfunctioning or inadequate heat – call 311 to report heat issues, call 911 to get medical help.
