Where To Watch The World Cup Around Ditmas Park


Who are you rooting for in this year’s World Cup? Ah, heck, we wouldn’t recognize the name anyway. But we can get in on the spirit of the thing–especially the Ditmas Park spirit of it!–so here are some of the best spots locally to catch the action.

Bar Chord (1008 Cortelyou Road between Stratford Road and Coney Island Avenue) will be showing World Cup games this weekend, with happy hour deals from 4-7pm Monday-Friday and 2-7pm Saturday and Sunday.

Hamilton’s (2826 Fort Hamilton Parkway on the corner of E 4th Street) is showing every game of the event on their 92″ projector screen. They also have 16 beers on tap (with happy hour on weekdays from 11am-7pm), and a full food menu if you decide you need to eat or something.

Highbury Pub (1002 Cortelyou Road on the corner of Coney Island Avenue) was born to do this! Join other passionate football fans for a rowdy good time, as well as some savory pies and $5 draughts from 2-7pm on weekdays.

Ox Cart Tavern (583 Argyle Road on the corner of Newkirk Avenue) will be showing games on their TVs, plus they have two happy hours every day and a lot of pretzels, wings, and more to go around.

Sycamore (1118 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Roads) will be showing games both inside and outdoors on their 60″ screen, with happy hour deals from 2-8pm Monday-Friday, 12-6pm Saturday and Sunday, and Jack’s Chedbred and The Dogwood at this weekend’s Flatbush Food Court. Plus this weekend, they’re devoting their outdoor taps to Victory Brewing Company!
