Be forewarned, the weather forecast shows rain from about 10:00 pm tonight until after midnight and into 2019, so if you’re going out, don’t forget to bundle up and bring that umbrella!

Presented by the Prospect Park Alliance and Borough President Eric Adams, possibly the best fireworks show in Brooklyn takes place at Grand Army Plaza, with music and dancing starting at 10:30 pm and fireworks at the stroke of midnight.

Tens of thousands of people show up to check out the show, which is in its 39th year, so make sure to get there a little early to find a good spot. While the event is free and open to the public, do try to RSVP online here.

If you’re further south in Brooklyn and not feeling a trip up past the park, head down to Coney Island for a waterfront firework spectacular instead. Starting at 9:00 pm, there’ll be music and karaoke from DJs on the boardwalk, reminiscent of the Friday Night firework shows that grace the Reigelmann Boardwalk over the summer.

Expect the lights to be lit up and the carousel spinning tonight, before the countdown to midnight on the iconic Parachute Jump tower. Then, it’ll be ordinance over the ocean with a spectacular fireworks show for all those gathered on the boardwalk!

And if that’s not enough for you, make sure to come back tomorrow for the Polar Bear Plunge!

As always, stay safe make sure not to drive if you’re having celebratory drinks. There’s all manner of public transit to get you into the New Year safely!
