Where to Find Your Perfect Restaurant or Bar Patio

We have got a beautiful week in store, which means it’s time to start thinking about eating and/or drinking outdoors. If you’re not one of the lucky dozen or so who have a backyard, we’ve put together a list of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood where you can live it up outside. Let us know if we’ve missed anyone!

Restaurants

Applewood (501 11th Street)

The patio is not yet open, but Applewood tells us that it will be soon. Restaurant hours are Monday through Saturday from 5pm to 11pm, from 10am to 2pm on Saturday for brunch, and from 10am to 3pm on Sunday for brunch. For more information, or an update on when they’ll have outdoor seating available, call 718-788-1810.

Athena Mediterranean Cuisine (535 6th Avenue)

Outdoor seating is ready and waiting for both lunch and dinner guests. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 12pm to 10pm, and on Friday and Saturday from 12pm to 11pm.

BaBa’s Deli (599 5th Avenue)

This might just look like your everyday deli, but BaBa’s actually has a pretty snazzy patio in the back for in-house dining. It is open now, so grab a sandwich and enjoy the sunshine.

Bar Toto (411 11th Street)

Sit outside and people watch on 6th Avenue at Bar Toto. The restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Friday, from 11am to 4pm, dinner Sunday through Thursday from 5pm to 12am, and Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 1am. Weekend bunch is also available on Saturday and Sundays from 11am to 4pm.

Brooklyn Flipster’s (444 9th Street)

The 7th Avenue burger joint has a small patio right on 9th Street that’s perfect for the whole family. Hours are 11am to midnight, 7 days a week, but the restaurant tells us that they’ll generally start packing up the patio around 11pm.

Dizzy’s (511 9th Street)

Another great family stop is Dizzy’s Diner, who confirmed their outdoor seating is ready to go. The restaurant is open from 7am to 10pm on Monday through Friday, for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm, and for weekend dinner from 6pm to 10pm.

Fonda (434 7th Avenue, pictured above)

Fonda may be closed on Mondays, but you can enjoy their patio seating Tuesday through Thursday from 5pm until 10:30pm, Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 11:30pm, and on Sundays from 5pm until 10pm. Brunch is also available on weekends from 11am to 4pm.

Ha Noi Vietnamese Kitchen (448 9th Street)

Craving a little pho under the sun? The restaurant confirms that outdoor seating is available. Hours are Sunday through Thursday, from 12pm to 10:30pm, and Friday through Saturday, from 12pm to 11:30pm.

Johnny Mack’s (1114 8th Avenue)

Johnny Mack’s is still deciding whether or not they’re going to open their outdoor seating up today, but said to stroll by around 5pm and check it out. Our bet, though, is that if it’s not available today, it will be soon.

Monsignor’s Restaurant (679 5th Avenue)

Another great family destination is the back patio at Monsignor’s, which is open Monday through Friday from 11am until 11pm, and weekends from 10am to 10:30pm.

Pizza Plus (359 7th Avenue)

Kids asking for pizza? Get thee to Pizza Plus, for their backyard area is one of our absolute favorites. The pie mecca is open from 11:30am to 10:30pm on Sundays through Thursdays, and 11:30am to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Toby’s Public House (686 6th Avenue)

Toby’s tells us that it’s a little windy, so they don’t have the umbrellas out, but the tables are definitely there and customers are welcome to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The kitchen tosses around their brick oven pizzas from 4pm to 11pm on Mondays through Thursdays, 12pm to 12am on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12pm to 10pm on Sundays.

Bars

Black Horse Pub (568 5th Avenue)

“We sure do,” was the answer given when we rang up the Black Horse Pub to see if their outdoor seating was available. Enjoy some pub grub and a pint with some friends on the front patio. The area will be open until, “10 or 11pm.”

Brookvin (381 7th Avenue)

Brookvin has a fabulous outdoor garden area open until 10pm tonight, so grab some friends for a bottle of wine.

Commonwealth (597 5th Avenue)

You know Commonwealth will have their patio rocking today. Snag your beverage of choice, and enjoy their huge outdoor space until 11pm…just be mindful of the neighbors.

Dram Shop (339 9th Street)

Nothing says warm weather like a burger, and Dram Shop has one of the best burgers in town. The patio is open from 3pm until 11pm on Monday through Friday, and 12pm to 11pm weekends.

Freddy’s (627 5th Avenue)

Take backroom to the extreme, and claim one of the tables in Freddy’s backyard. The patio area is open from 12pm until 11pm.

Greenwood Park (555 7th Avenue)

This one goes without saying, doesn’t it? Greenwood Park should be hopping now that this fantastic weather is here. Hours are Monday through Sunday, from 12pm to 3am. Kitchen hours are Monday through Thursday, from 5pm to 11pm, Friday and Saturday from 12pm to midnight, and Sunday from 12pm to 11pm.

Prospect (545 5th Avenue)

Love, love, love the backyard at Prospect. They told us on the phone today that it is, “absolutely open,” and will remain that way until 11pm. The bar opens at 12pm on Monday through Friday, and offers an incredible brunch starting at 11am on weekends.

Quarter (676 5th Avenue)

Order up a beer, a D.U.B. pie, and enjoy Quarter Bar’s outdoor patio until midnight. The bar opens daily at 6pm.

Sea Witch Tavern (703 5th Avenue)

If you haven’t spent some quality time on Sea Witch’s back patio, you don’t know what you’re missing. The outdoor space is open until 11pm on weekdays, and midnight on weekends.

Skylark (477 5th Avenue)

Skylark is introducing a brand new fenced seating area outside, which they told us this afternoon is here to stay. Outdoor seating is open until 11pm.

South (629 5th Avenue)

We hear the patio at South is “definitely” good to go, so grab a beer and get out there. The bar opens at 2pm on Monday through Friday, and 12pm on weekends, but (as most of our other bars do) the patio closes at 11pm.
