Where To Buy A Christmas Tree In Park Slope

That sweet and woody scent fills the air as Christmas tree sites pop up around the neighborhood, and with really nice trees in a variety of types and sizes at almost every spot we visited, your best bet may be just picking the location closest to you (though there’s also an option for delivery that’s hard to beat).

Good luck on your tree hunt, and if you notice any other spots we missed, let us know in the comments!

8th Avenue & 8th Street
Monday-Friday 2pm-9pm, Saturday 9am-10pm, Sunday 10am-9pm
Foley Firs is back with trees delivered from Sherbrooke, Quebec. They’ve also got wreaths (both basic and decorated), pine roping, and tree stands, plus Tom offers free delivery and in-home setup. On top of that, once again this stand participates in a PTA fundraiser for more 13 local public schools (including PS 321) where $10 from any tree purchased can be donated to one of those schools — whether or not you’re a family that attends, just mention the school’s name at the time of purchase and they’ll make the donation.

5th Avenue & Sterling Place (Key Food)
24 hours a day, 7 days a week until Christmas
Folks from Quebec are set up with a range of trees in various sizes that run about  $12 per foot, with small table-top trees starting at $25. They’ve also got wreaths and boughs for decorating, plus some cute free-form reindeer.

Union Street between 7th & 6th Avenues (next to Coop)
7th Avenue & 7th Street (All Saints Church)
9am-9pm daily through Christmas
Both of these sites are run by Adam Parke, who brings organic, pesticide-free trees down from his own Vermont farm to seven Brooklyn locations. They’re also selling organic maple syrup and handmade wreaths with wildcrafted berries and mosses.

7th Avenue & Carroll Street (Old First Reformed Church)
12/5-12/15: Thursday & Friday 5-8pm, Saturday 10am-9pm, Sunday 10:30am-7pm; 12/20-12/22: Friday 5-8pm, Saturday 10am-7pm, Sunday 10:30am-7pm
All sales at this annual event benefit the parent-run co-op Old First Nursery School, and they’ve got trees, wreaths, and all the accessories you’ll need.

7th Avenue between 2nd & 3rd Streets (Tarzian Hardware)
Monday-Friday 8:30am-7pm, Saturday 9am-6:30pm, Sunday 11am-6pm
Tarzian Hardware is a good option for one-stop shopping, with a nice bunch of small potted trees at $40, plus mid-sized cut trees, wreaths, garland, and plenty of the things you’ll need to decorate that tree, like strings of lights.

9th Street between 5th & 6th Avenues (CVS)
24 hours a day, 7 days a week until Christmas
At the moment, this is one of the best-stocked sites in the area, with a wide variety of trees in many sizes, from a 4-foot Fraser at $40 or a 6-foot Douglass at $30, plus larger trees for bigger spaces.

Flatbush Avenue between Sterling Place and 8th Avenue
24 hours a day, 7 days a week until Christmas
A couple delis on the other side of Flatbush Ave have tree stands set up, but if you don’t want to haul the tree across the street, these guys will be here with a range of trees running about $15 per foot, but the prices do vary depending on the type of tree — like others, they’ve got wee trees for $25, but they’ve got larger ones as well, like the 10-foot Fraser we saw for $130.

7th Avenue at Park Place
24 hours a day, 7 days a week until Christmas
Set up against the wall with the ivy paint job, it’s not a bad option if you hop off the B/Q train and want to pick up a tree on your way home from work. They’ve got small table-top trees for $25 like many others, plus a small selection of larger trees up to about 8 feet.

Garfield Place & 7th Avenue (Garfield Farm Market)
24 hours a day, 7 days a week until Christmas
They’ve got some tiny desk-sized potted trees starting at $8, slightly larger potted ones between $25-$35, plus fresh-cut trees up to $125, garlands, wreaths, and poinsettias.

7th Avenue & Carroll Street (Key Food)
24 hours a day, 7 days a week until Christmas
Right now, they’ve got the biggest stock of those Charlie Brown type trees that so many apartment dwellers lean toward, ready to go with a tree stand for $30. They’ve also got larger trees starting at $50 and up, plus stands, garlands, wreaths, and more.

7th Avenue at 3rd Street (Yogurtland)
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Christmas
Not a lot of info about these guys, who popped up last weekend, but the folks at Yogurtland said they will have trees on the weekends through the holiday.

Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket
Saturdays 8am-4pm until December 21
Trumansberg Tree Farm just started selling their trees, wreaths, and other trimmings last Saturday, and should have them in stock at the weekly market through the holiday. Lebak Farm also has beautiful bunches of branches, wreaths, and swags made of dried flowers and pine boughs that are great for holiday decorating.
