What Were The Best And Worst MTA Moments From 2013?

The Straphangers Campaign just released its Top Ten Worst and Best Events for City Subways and Buses in 2013, including another fare hike, lengthy and expensive post-Sandy repairs, and nasty platforms (all worst), as well as the price slash to the planned 2015 hike, implementation of Select Bus Service, and the MTA Subway Time app (best, and we don’t have it yet).

We’d say our best MTA moment of 2013 was when Smith and 9th Street finally reopened, and the closure of the R train tunnel takes top prize for the worst moment.

From unexplained delays and rats on the tracks to the conductor holding the doors for you or a fellow passenger offering you a shoulder, what were the MTA-related moments this year that made you want to tear your hair out, and the ones that made you happy to own a MetroCard?
