What To Keep In Mind As Up To A Foot Of Snow Falls On Kensington This Week
Here we snow again.
The city is under a Winter Storm Warning until 7pm Monday, with 5 to 8 inches of heavy, wet snow on tap. Flash forward to Tuesday night, and the National Weather Service is calling for “2 to 4 inches of additional snow, along with ice accretion of a tenth to quarter of an inch of ice.”
Translation: it’s going to be a messy week.
We’re all familiar with the rest. Alternate side parking has been suspended for Monday, February 3, but meters are still in effect, so don’t forget to feed the Muni. The NYC.gov website says that garbage and recycling pickup are on schedule, but the trash in front of our building is quickly getting buried in snow, so we’re betting there will be some delays with neighborhood collections today.
All school field trips and after school programs have been cancelled for Monday, but NYC Public schools are otherwise operating on a regular schedule.
Exercise caution getting around, keep those walkways shoveled, check in on your sick or elderly neighbors, and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa while you can!
