Welcome Kernan Farms To The Cortelyou Greenmarket This Sunday
There will be new faces at the Cortelyou Greenmarket this Sunday, August 10 – GrowNYC just announced that Kernan Farms will be bringing “a bounty of fresh produce” to our weekly market.
“This will be their trial run for permanently joining the market, so please stop by and welcome them to the neighborhood!” Manager Emily Winkler-Morey said of the farm that hails from Cumberland County, New Jersey.
Kernan Farms is no stranger to the city, and it sells its produce at a variety of greenmarkets throughout the area, including at Brooklyn Borough Hall, Grand Army Plaza, Saint Mark’s Church, Union Square, and Rockefeller Center. The farm offer all kinds of yummy looking fruits and vegetables (they post many a drool-worthy photo on their Twitter feed), including peaches, tomatoes, peas, squash, eggplant, okra, zucchini, sweet potatoes, peppers, strings beans, potatoes, onions, and garlic.
The Cortelyou Greenmarket is a producer-only farmers’ market that runs every Sunday from 8am to 3pm on Cortelyou Road between Argyle and Rugby. EBT, debit, credit and cash are accepted.
