CENTRAL BROOKLYN

Free Roller Skating
When: Wednesday, July 22, 2pm
Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park
What: Kids 12 years old and younger can skate to their heart’s content!
How much: Free! Skate rentals available for $6.

A Summer Movie Under The Stars
When: Wednesday, July 22, 7pm
Where: Long Meadow North, Prospect Park
What: Bring your blankets to a free showing of E.T. in Prospect Park, sponsored by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.
How much: Free!

FAB Fridays For Kids
When: Friday, July 24, 4pm-6pm
Where: Putnam Triangle, Fulton Street and Grand Avenue, Fort Greene
What: Free games and activities, including arts workshops and reading circles, hosted by Fulton Area Business (FAB).
How Much: Free!

The Music Man, Jr.
When: Friday, July 24, 8:30pm
Where: The Old Stone House, 336 3rd Street, Park Slope
What: Piper Theater Workshop presents The Music Man, Jr., an adaptation of the classic musical that follows the antics of Harold Hill and his attempt to con the town of River City.
How much: Free!

Habana Outpost Kids Corner
When: Saturday, July 25 & Sunday, July 26, 11am-3pm
Where: Habana Outpost, 757 Fulton Street, Fort Greene
What: Make cardboard robots from recycled toilet paper rolls. Recycling and Upcycling times two! The Kid’s Corner is a weekend program that offers free, creative workshops and crafts that teach environmentalism, wellness and community to neighborhood kids.

Grace UMC Family Fun Day
When: Saturday, July 25, 12pm-6pm
Where: Grace United Methodist Church, 33 7th Avenue, Park Slope
What: All are welcome to Grace UMC’s Family Fun Day for music, games, and refreshments.

Free Public Rowing
When: Saturday, July 25, 12-4pm
Where: Prospect Park’s Wellhouse Boat Ramp
What: Check out Prospect Park Lake by rowboat, thanks to the Prospect Park Alliance and Village Community Boathouse — which have again teamed up to offer the free public rowing every saturday.
How much: Free!

Peter Pan And The Pirates
When: Saturday, July 25 & Sunday, July 26, 3pm & 4pm
Where: Zucker Natural Exploration Area Prospect Park
What: Eva Dean Dance Company will turn Zucker Natural Exploration Area into Neverland for their presentation of Peter Pan and the Pirates.
How much: Free!

South Slope Summer Stroll
When: Saturday, July 25, 5-9pm
Where: 5th Avenue from 12th-18th Streets, South Slope
What: Portions of 5th Avenue are closed to traffic for a few hours in the evening so families can enjoy the weather, dance, eat, and explore the street in a way we don’t normally get to.
How Much: Free!

Sunday Story Time with Peter Sis
When: Sunday, July 26, 11:30am-12:30pm
Where: PowerHouse on 8th, 1111 8th Avenue, South Slope
What: Listen to author Peter Sis read aloud from his book, Ice Cream Summer.

SOUTHERN BROOKLYN

Superhero Training Lab
When: Wednesday, July 22, 3pm-4pm
Where: Coney Island Library, 1901 Mermaid Avenue
What: Every superhero needs a disguise. Head to Coney Island Library to draw your own costume and add another piece to your Summer Reading Gameboard

Meet a Local Hero

Where: New Utrecht Library, 1743 86th Street, Bensonhurst
What: Head to New Utrecht Library to meet a hero from the neighborhood.

Drop-In Sing Along With Lucy Kalantari
When: Friday, July 24, 10am
Where: Lark Cafe, 1007 Church Avenue, Ditmas Park
What: With her charm and musical talents, Lucy Kalantari will have your kids singing and dancing along with her songs.
How much: Suggested $5 per child

Family Concert
When: Saturday, July 25, 1pm-2:30pm
Where: Sheepshead Bay Library, 2636 East 14th Street
What: Friends of Sheepshead Bay Library are hosting a family musical festival with games, prizes, and a performance by the Children’s Musical Bells Ensemble.

Coney Island Flicks On The Beach: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
When: Monday, July 27, 7:30pm
Where: Coney Island Boardwalk, 1001 Boardwalk West
What: Coney Island Flicks on the Beach continues with a screening of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Bring your blankets and enjoy the movie on a 40-foot inflatable screen on the beach.
