The Flatbush Town Hall, at 35 Snyder Avenue between Flatbush and Bedford Avenues, was built between 1874 and 1875. The town of Flatbush was not absorbed into the City of Brooklyn until 1894. The town hall was designated a New York City landmark in 1966, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 .
