This Weekend’s Sheepshead Bay Open House Picks

We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening in and around Sheepshead Bay this weekend. Any thoughts on these places?

2170 Brigham Street #4D
List Price: $150,000
Size: Two bedrooms, one bathroom
Details: Two bedrooms for $150k is a pretty sweet deal, so we’re inclined to wonder if there’s something terribly wrong with this place. The listing makes it sound nice enough, though, and while the photos don’t do the description any justice, the condition and selling price of other units in the building do ease the mind a bit. Perhaps it’s simply an issue of location… unless anyone has any other ideas?
Open House: Sunday, February 15, 1-3pm

387 Avenue S #4B
List Price: $165,000
Size: One bedroom, one bathroom
Details: It looks like the sun was on its way down during the photographing of this apartment, so it’s tough to tell how much light it really gets; however, windows in the kitchen and bath are promising. Besides that, it’s pet- and eventual sublet-friendly, steps from the F train, and quite close to amenities on Kings Highway.
Open House: Saturday, February 14, 11am-1pm

1910 Avenue V #3A
List Price: $485,000, $409 common charges
Size: Two bedrooms, two bathrooms
Details: Crisp, clean, bright, and without any terribly interesting or offensive finishes, this condo is at least reasonably centrally located in Sheepshead. Between Mellett and Galapago Playgrounds, near amenities on Avenue U, and not far from the Q train, its location may prove enough to help potential buyers forget its remarkably boring interiors.
Open House: Sunday, February 15, 12-3pm

2458 E 28th Street
List Price: $838,000
Size: Five bedrooms, four bathrooms, split over two units
Details: We may never be able to buy a house this expensive, but considering this one’s number of beds and baths, its potential for income, and its thoroughly sparkly finishes (photos here if you can’t see them all at the original listing), $800k doesn’t seem like a terrible price. Location-wise, we suspect families in particular will enjoy the home’s yard and ample private parking, as well as its proximity to Bill Brown Playground, the Kings Bay Library, and food and shopping on Nostrand, too. All of which leaves us with just one question: what’s with the Julia Child-height kitchen island?
Open House: Sunday, February 15, 3-5pm
