This Weekend’s Ditmas Park Open House Picks
We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening in and around Ditmas Park this Sunday. Any thoughts on these places?
385 E 18th Street #4D
List Price: $359,000, $650 maintenance
Size: One bedroom, one bathroom
Details: This 750 sq ft coop between Cortelyou and Dorchester is slightly smaller than its neighbor we listed last month, and is priced accordingly. Still, it’s got lovely details including inlaid flooring and built ins, tons of natural light, an open living area for easy entertaining, and radiant heat and in-building laundry. Considering all that and its convenient location between Cortelyou and Dorchester, the unit seems like an all around fabulous place to call “home.”
Open House: Sunday, December 14, 11am-1pm
31 Stephens Court
List Price: $670,000
Size: Four bedrooms, two bathrooms
Details: This townhouse is closer to the Newkirk Avenue 2/5 than it is to the Newkirk Plaza B/Q (not quite “in the Heart of Kensington,” though it was a valiant effort), but it’s still west of Flatbush Avenue and hot dog if that price is not an intriguing one. The house definitely needs some TLC, but that only means you’ll get to do it up exactly as you’d like–plus, any location that gets us closer to Diana Ross is a winner in our eyes.
Open House: Sunday, December 14, 12-2pm
859 E 17th Street
List Price: $1,400,000
Size: Five bedrooms, three bathrooms
Details: It’s not terribly easy to see what’s going on in this home on a quiet block below Avenue H (note to realtors: landscape, not portrait!) but a combination of squinting and an all caps description reveals it’s got nice details like parquet floors, beamed ceilings, a decorative fireplace, and more. Its location is convenient to the subway and Brooklyn College, and it may also include a rental unit for some extra income–stop in and see what that mention of an extra kitchen is about to be sure.
Open House: Sunday, December 14, 3-5pm
663 Rugby Road
List Price: $1,700,000
Size: Five bedrooms, five bathrooms
Details: We wish interior renovations to this home near Foster had maintained some of its Victorian character, but maybe we’re missing something from the small photos–and without question, said renovations have made for an open, functional family home. It’s got plenty of space to run around with the kids, an updated kitchen for an owner who loves to cook, and more bathrooms than we could ever imagine needing, plus a functional fireplace and a finished basement. We guess all that is pretty nice, too.
Open House: Sunday, December 14, 12-2pm
