“Christopher J. Mega Way” Street Co-naming Ceremony
When: Saturday, October 15 at 11 a.m.
Where: Corner of 80th Street and 10th Avenue
What: The late Christopher J. Mega was a state senator and funder of the Bensonhurst Volunteer Ambulance group and the Police Athletic League, among other organizations. The event is sponsored by Councilman Gentile. Family and friends of the Mega family will be in attendance.

Fort Hamilton Comic Con
When: Saturday, October 15 at noon
Where: Fort Hamilton Community Club at 207 Sterling Drive
What: Comic Con comes to Brooklyn! The Fort Hamilton Comic Con will have live panels, vendors, and prizes for the best cosplay costume. Local artists, like Natalie Raffaele, will also be there at booths.
How Much: Tickets are $20, $10 for children 10 and under

Luna Park’s Dog Parade & Costume Contest  
When: Rescheduled from last weekend to Saturday, October 15 at noon
Where: Luna Park at 1000 Surf Avenue
What: Come watch over 100 furry friends compete for the titles of Mr. or Ms. Congeniality, Cutest, Most Original, Audience Choice and the grand-prize winner Best in Show, winning a three months’ subscription to Barkbox. Other contests winners will receive Petco gift cards.
How Much: FREE

Neighborhood cleanup initiative
When: Sunday, October 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Meet up at 29 Bay 25th Street
What: Join your community leaders and politicians for a neighborhood clean-up event in response to concerns about cleanliness on the stretch of 86th Street from 25th Avenue to 16th Avenue, and 18th Avenue from Benson to 82nd Street, as well as the streets surrounding Bensonhurst Park.

Meet Chef Mario Batali
When: Sunday, October 16 at noon
Where: The BookMarke Shoppe at 8415 3rd Avenue
What: Meet Mario Batali and have him sign a copy of his newest book
How Much: Tickets cost $40 and include a copy of Mario Batali’s “Big American Cookbook: 250 Favorite Recipes From Across The USA”

Greetings from Coney Island Walking Tour
When: Sunday, October 16 at 3 p.m.
Where: Meets at Grimaldi’s at 1215 Surf Avenue
What: Take a tour of Coney Island’s amusement zone and hear the area’s history from New York Local Tours guides
How Much: Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at the Brooklyn Brainery’s website

Where: 18th Avenue between 81st and 82nd street

When: Every weekend September 24 through October 30
Where: Coney Island’s Luna Park
What: Come out for a host of family-friendly holiday-centric activities, including Kooky Spooky Karaoke, story time at the Monster Mash stage, glitter tattooing from Hiccups the Clown and much more
How Much: Activities range from free to $10 or so
