Weekday Fun: The Best Events September 22-24
We’re officially heading into autumn today, and there’s a celebration at Grand Army Plaza to welcome the new season — but just because summer’s over, it doesn’t mean there aren’t still lots of events going on around the neighborhood, from trivia to tours and more:
Drumming In The Dark: Sunset Equinox Celebration
When: Monday, September 22, 6:30pm
Where: Baily Fountain at Grand Army Plaza
What: Bid farewell to summer and hello to fall at this autumnal equinox celebration! The family- (and dog- and drum-) friendly event will feature “blessings, chanting, drumming, and great spirit.”
How much: Free!
TinyRhino: Back To School Edition
When: Tuesday September 23, 8pm
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: In this monthly theatrical drinking game, TinyRhino commissions six playwrights to write new plays, each including the same five dramatic elements. Guests will be given a list of these elements, which could show up at any time, in any order, and with any frequency. When they do show up, it means — you guessed it — drink!
How much: $10, tickets available in advance. Price of admission includes one free beer!
Game Of Thrones Trivia
When: Tuesday, September 23, 8pm
Where: Tea Lounge, 837 Union Street
What: Hodor! Hodor Hodor, Hodor. Hodor?
How much: Free, but first-come, first-served, so arrive early.
Prospect Park Ecological Restoration Walking Tour
When: Wednesday, September 24, 9am-12pm
Where: Lakeside, Prospect Park
What: Join the Prospect Park Alliance to learn about the Alliance’s Natural Resources Crew and their work to introduce and sustain native plant species that benefit the Park’s ecosystem. The tour will be led by Steven DiFalco, the Alliance’s forest ecologist, who will identify invasive species that can disrupt this ecosystem.

Fiber Arts Group
When: Wednesday, September 24, 6-8pm
Where: Central Library, Trustees Room, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Calling crafters of all levels — join others who quilt, embroider, knit, crochet, and more to share tips, ask questions, and work on projects.
How much: Free!
