Looking for something fun to do in the neighborhood this week? There are plenty of interesting events within walking distance — show off your Tarantino knowledge for fun and prizes, dance the night away during the opening of a global brass music festival, learn to draw caricatures, and more:
Tarantino Trivia Night
When: Monday, October 13, 8pm
Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: Know your Mr. Pink from your Marsellus Wallace? TrivWorks is hosting a night of trivia about filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, with multiple rounds of full-room team trivia and a chance to win theme-appropriate prizes — here’s hoping one of those is a wallet.

Learn To Draw Caricatures
When: Tuesday, October 14, 7-9pm
Where: Spoke the Hub Re:Creation Center, 748 Union Street
What: Learn to draw caricatures in an intimate setting with cartoonist/illustrator André LeRoy Davis. Bring a few good quality close-up photos of your subject or use one of theirs. All needed materials will be supplied, and beginners are welcome!
How much: $20 in advance, $25 at the door, $10 for students and STH members.
The Fancy Show: 27
When: Tuesday, October 14, 8pm
Where: Bar Reis, 375 5th Avenue
What: Looking for a fun night of stand-up and free popcorn and drink giveaways? Then this is the place for you. This week features Kyle Ploof, Drew Dowdey, Jaqi Furback, Cory Jarvis, and is hosted by Langston Kerman.

What: See Humphrey Bogart as private investigator Sam Spade in the 1941 John Huston-directed classic.

HONK NYC Opening Night Dance Party
When: Wednesday, October 15, 8pm
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: The festival’s opening night features global brass music presented by famed NYC-based trumpeter Frank London, Pakava It’ from Moscow, and Les Muses Tanguent from Paris, with help from friends in Raya Brass Band and PitchBlak Brass Band.
How much: $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
