Weekday Fun: The Best Events November 11-13

Guys, it’s supposed to maybe snow a little bit tomorrow. Don’t let a fear of winter keep you indoors! There’s a lot of great comedy, trivia, and free workshops to check out in the neighborhood this week:

Night Train with Wyatt Cenac
When: Monday, November 11, 8pm (doors 7:30pm)
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: Another amazing lineup at Wyatt Cenac‘s weekly comedy show, featuring Jon Glaser (pictured above), Brooks Wheelen, Myq Kaplan, Sasheer Zamata, and Andy Haynes.

Person, Place, Prose, Poem
When: Tuesday, November 12, 7pm
Where: Central Library, Info Commons Lab, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: This session, run by Tim Tomlinson (co-founder of New York Writers Workshop), offers two concrete ways to dig into personal experience for material, and several ways to begin shaping that material into imaginative work. Participants will create an original poem, and begin shaping a passage of prose. All levels welcome.

Nothing to Hide?
When: Wednesday, November 13, 7pm
Where: Central Library, Info Commons Lab, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: This forum will take a look at what’s at stake when we discuss online privacy, what a loss of privacy means to a democratic way of life, how the average internet and smartphone user can feel safe but free on the web, and more.
How much: Free!

Pat Kiernan’s Holiday Trivia Party
When: Wednesday, November 13, 7:30pm (doors 7pm)
Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: TrivWorks is once again teaming up with everyone’s favorite NY1 news anchor, Pat Kiernan, for a night of the trivia about holiday-themed movies, TV specials, novelty songs, fads, phenomena, celebrity hijinx, and more. Everyone will play multiple rounds of full-room team trivia, as well as be entered into a raffle to go up onstage for 1-on-1 trivia with Pat, with the chance to win theme-appropriate prizes.
