Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Photographer Randy Duchaine discusses culinary curiosity with Shamus Jones of Brooklyn Brine, Caitlin Bajo of Acme Smoked Fish, and Elizabeth Schaible, professor of culinary arts at NYC College of Technology, CUNY. And you can’t talk about food without food, so Whole Foods will be feeding you some!

March Madness: An Evening Of Readings By Women We Love
When: Tuesday, March 10, 8pm
Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: A free evening of readings from Ariel Dumas, Jena Friedman, Jean Grae, Aparna Nancherla, Phoebe Robinson, Juli Weiner, and Delaney Yeager.

Shape Up NYC: Glutes In Gear
When: Wednesday, March 11, 6-7pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Looking for a belly-busting, booty shaping workout? This two-part class focuses on high-endurance cardio and mat work to build your core, and flatten and tighten your abs and glutes. No registration is required, but be sure to bring your own mat.

Science Fiction In Film: Metropolis
When: Wednesday, March 11, 7pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Check out the 2010 restoration of Metropolis, Fritz Lang’s science fiction masterpiece about a great city run by a ruthless businessman whose population is split between wealthy über-capitalists and rebellious subterranean laborers. Fun!

Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz
When: Wednesday, March 11, 8:30pm
Where: The Rock Shop, 249 4th Avenue
What: Teams of up to six players will compete for bar gift certificates and bragging rights, plus there are chances to win free pints (or gift-certificate equivalents) for answering five bonus questions throughout the evening, and there are some kinds of “bizarre prizes” for their weekly Bonus Email Question.
