Weekday Fun: The Best Events July 28-30
It’s a gorgeous night for a jog, and there’s help if you’re not a runner! From that Couch to 5k program in the park, to Arrested Development trivia, to a storytelling series about how people have learned to live in New York, there’s a lot of fun stuff to do in the area this week. Shape Up NYC: Couch To 5k
When: Monday, July 28, 7pm
Where: Meets in Prospect Park on the porch of Lefferts Historic House
What: Don’t let the summer heat get you down! Lace up those sneakers, and make your fitness dreams a reality in Prospect Park. This weekly jog combines group running, walking, and conditioning exercises to get you in shape for long distance running.
How much: Free!
Arrested Development Trivia
When: Tuesday, July 29, 8-9:30pm
Where: Backyard, 388 5th Avenue
What: Bring your Bluth family knowledge, never-nude cutoffs, and frozen bananas for rounds of trivia based on the TV show.
How much: Free, but first-come, first-served, so arrive early.
2014 Plaza Swing Series: Harlem Blues And Jazz Ensemble
When: Wednesday, July 30, 6:30pm
Where: Central Library, Central Plaza, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: This super-group of significant side-men of the Classic Jazz Period who have a combined 500 years of performing experience! Dance lessons are at 6:30pm, and the band starts at 7pm. (In case of rain, the event will be held on Thursday, July 17 at 6:30pm.)

Trivia Night
When: Wednesday, July 30, 7:30-9:30pm
Where: The Roof at Whole Foods, 214 3rd Street
What: Trivia NYC presents a fun, free night of trivia where you’ll not only get bragging rights if you win, but some prizes.
How much: Free!
How I Learned To Live In New York
When: Wednesday, July 30, 8pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: Blaise Allysen Kearsley hosts a night of writers, storytellers, comics, and more sharing lessons learned, unlearned, relearned, or in progress. This round features Saheer Zamata, Bob Powers, Maris Kreizman, Choire Sicha, and James Bewley.
How much: $6 in advance, $10 at the door.
