Some of the great events coming up in the area this week include a cheap comedy show, a free trivia night, a documentary screening with a discussion, and more:

Night Train With Wyatt Cenac
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: It’s proven that laughter will make you warmer, so get to this night of stand-up comedy hosted by Wyatt Cenac and this week featuring Jackie Kashian, Eliot Glazer, Andy Haynes, Phoebe Robinson, Saurin Choksi, and Josh Gondelman.

Plow To Plate Presents: Genetic Roulette
When: Tuesday, January 13, 7pm
Where: Park Slope Food Coop, 782 Union Street, 2nd Floor
What: See a screening and then discuss the documentary Genetic Roulette, which argues that GMOs are the root cause of Americans’ current health problems. Open to members and non-members of the Coop, and there will be refreshments.

Cheap Date Comedy Show
When: Tuesday, January 13, 8pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: Again: it’s cold, and the laughing will help with the warming. See comedians Akaash Singh, Nore Davis, Brendan Fitzgibbons, Kara Klenk, and Carolyn Castiglia, hosted by Sharron Paul and Calvin Cole. Plus, they’ve got free snacks, sketches, prizes, and more!

Shape-Up NYC Presents Glutes In Gear: Cardio & Toning
When: Wednesday, January 14, 6pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Made a new year’s resolution to get in shape? Check out this free series at the park. This round will focus on your lower half with a “belly-busting, booty shaping” class that combines cardio with exercises on a workout mat (bring your own!).

Surface To Air
When: Wednesday, January 14, 8pm
Where: Barbes, 376 9th Street
What: Moody acoustic fusion featuring Rohin Khemani on tabla and percussion, Jonti Siman on upright bass, and Jonathan Goldberger on acoustic guitar.
