Night Train With Guest Hosts Phoebe Robinson & Jessica Williams

What: Wyatt Cenac is leaving hosting duties to Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams this week, and they’ll be joined on stage by comedians Matteo Lane, Jim Tews, Hari Kondabolu, Bryan Babylon, Liza Treyger, and Michelle Billoon.

Trio Blastphemy
When: Tuesday, February 17, 7pm
Where: Barbes, 376 9th Street
What: Hear an unusual brass band — featuring Curtis Hasselbring (trombone), Ben Holmes (trumpet), and Jacob Garchik (tuba) — that plays everything from pop songs to folk music to improvisation-driven originals.
How much: $10 strongly suggested donation.

Reading: Bill Roorbach & Melissa Falcon Field
When: Tuesday, February 17, 7pm
Where: Community Bookstore, 143 7th Avenue
What: Hear two authors discuss their work — a couple of novels where love, in its various forms, is at the center — Bill Roorbach with The Remedy for Love and Melissa Falcon Field with In What Burns Away.

Secret Science Club: Neuroscientist Carl Schoonover On “How To Look Inside The Brain”
When: Tuesday, February 17, 8pm
Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: Neuroscientist Carl Schoonover presents a wondrous, whirlwind survey of the scientific tools that help us “see” the brain. Grab a cocktail, get down with a little dancing, and definitely stick around for the Q&A.

Shape Up NYC: Glutes In Gear

Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Looking for a belly-busting, booty shaping workout? This two-part class focuses on high-endurance cardio and mat work to build your core, and flatten and tighten your abs and glutes. No registration is required, but be sure to bring your own mat.

Film Screening: In The Heat Of The Night
