CryptoParty: Journalist Security Edition

Where: Central Library, InfoCommons Lab, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Journalists will learn how to securely manage sensitive information — such as sources and documents — by using encryption software. Bring a laptop or a mobile device, and they can help you install and configure software.

Common Cinema Laboratories: Caring Labor
When: Monday, December 8, 8pm
Where: Morbid Anatomy Museum, 424 3rd Avenue
What: Tonight’s round of this series will have two parts: first, there’s a lecture and Q&A followed by a screening of the participants’ works. And really, that’s the best we can explain it, though they add that the goal of the series is “to develop forms of life from the projection of films and the installation of various other kinds of simulations.”
How much: $5 suggested donation.
