The Moth StorySlam

Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: Whether you’re chosen to tell your 5-minute story or you just get to listen to others, this month’s topic — bosses — should be a pretty interesting one. The winning storyteller of the night gets to move on to a GrandSlam Championship.

Union Hall Song Club

Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Photographer Randy Duchaine is speaking with awesome, inspiring Brooklynites in this series — tonight, meet Elliot Schwartz from Studio EIS, Tom Fruin, and Brooklyn Quilt Girl, Sylvia Hernandez.

The Tarras Band
When: Tuesday, April 7, 7pm
Where: Barbes, 376 9th Street
What: Join the Tarras Band — featuring klezmer pianist Peter Sokolow, Michael Winograd (clarinet), Ben Holmes (trumpet),Dan Blacksberg (trombone), David Licht (drums), and Jim Guttmann (bass) — for this Passover concert where they’ll perform music from the repertoire of Tarras as well as Naftule Brandwein, Sam Musiker, and original klezmer compositions by Holmes and Winograd.
How much: $10 strongly suggested donation.
Punderdome 3000
When: Tuesday, April 7, 8pm
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: Brooklyn’s premier monthly punning competition is back in all its linguistic glory. The event is open to all, but only 18 spots are reserved for competitors who want to participate in competitive spontaneous pun-making, and they go to individuals or duos on a first-come/first-served basis.
How much: $7 at the door.
Shape Up NYC: Glutes In Gear
When: Wednesday, April 8, 6-7pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Looking for a belly-busting, booty shaping workout? This two-part class focuses on high-endurance cardio and mat work to build your core, and flatten and tighten your abs and glutes. No registration is required, but be sure to bring your own mat.
How much: Free!
John Lewis, Andrew Aydin & Nate Powell On March: Book Two
When: Wednesday, April 8, 7pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Congressman John Lewis will discuss the continuation of his award-winning graphic novel trilogy, March, with co-writer Andrew Aydin and artist Nate Powell, inspired by a 1950s comic book that helped prepare his own generation to join the struggle. They will also be signing copies of the latest in the trilogy.

Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz
When: Wednesday, April 8, 8:30pm
Where: The Rock Shop, 249 4th Avenue
What: Teams of up to six players will compete for bar gift certificates and bragging rights, plus there are chances to win free pints (or gift-certificate equivalents) for answering five bonus questions throughout the evening, and there are some kinds of “bizarre prizes” for their weekly Bonus Email Question.
