Here is what happened in our neighborhood last week:

• Our neighbor, Leonard Phillips, was killed in a home invasion at 379 Rugby Road Wednesday morning.

We remembered Leonard as an incredibly kind man who was an accomplished auto mechanic.

• There have been no arrests in the home invasion yet, though police created this poster about the crime, which upset many neighbors.

• Following the home invasion, a neighbor is forming an emotional support group for the community.

• You can help us and CAMBA bring 500 turkeys to local families in need this Thanksgiving.

Car break-ins were reported on E. 18th Street.

• Police are asking for help finding a man who they said tried to rob a Chase bank on Flatbush Avenue.

• And a neighbor is asking for us to keep an eye out for two bicycles that were stolen.

• You can now sign up for the Flatbush Farm Share’s winter CSA.

• Restaurants around the borough, including in our neighborhood, will be participating in “Dine in Brooklyn,” which starts Monday.

More than 20 restaurants and stores will be participating in Tuesday’s Cortelyou at Twilight, the proceeds of which go to local schools.

The incredibly talented Inbal Hever spoke to us about her passion for music and an upcoming concert in our neighborhood.

Neighbor Faye Penn on five years of Brokelyn, including how it started and where it’s going.
