Ways To Donate To Jasmine Guillaume’s Family

Following a tragic house fire on E 8th Street last week that killed 16-year-old Jasmine Guillaume and left her sisters Jaima and Kareen Jumelle in critical condition, neighbors have been wondering how they can help.

The fire, which started on the second floor of 293 E 8th Street and spread to the 3rd floor, was particularly devastating because of a lack of working smoke detectors in the home, says the FDNY. And now Jasmine’s family is in an incredibly difficult situation, having lost one daughter, nearly losing two others, and losing their home.

Saint Saviour High School, where Jasmine was a junior, is accepting donations for the family on their website as well as by mail. Mail-in donations should be specified in honor of Jasmine, and can be sent to:

Students from Bensonhurst’s Bishop Kearney High School have also started aFundly campaign for the Jumelle family, where they invite neighbors not only to donate but to leave prayers and kind notes.

Our hearts continue to be with Jasmine’s family and friends, and any memories neighbors would like to share or other suggestions about how to help the Jumelles are welcome.
