Watch Your iPhones: Larceny Tops Crime Numbers Again in 70th Precinct

As has been the case for much of this year, grand and petit larcenies topped the crime numbers this week in the 70th Precinct. The police have said that property theft, specifically targeting iPhones, has driven numbers up.

Pictured above is is the most recent CompStat report from the 70th Precinct covering the week of 11/19 through 11/25/12.

Several incidents have been reported around our area:

• A 26-year-old man was shot in the head and killed on Flatbush Avenue. No arrests have been made.

• A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man with a machete on Coney Island Avenue at 4:36 a.m., reports Brooklyn Daily.

• A man driving a sedan with New Jersey plates filled up with $65 worth of gas at 1041 Coney Island Avenue and drove off without paying, reports Patch.
