Where To Watch Euro 2016 In The Brownstone Belt

It’s almost time for UEFA Euro 2016, and that means it’s time to find a place to watch. The tournament, which pits different national teams against each other, will run from June 10 to July 10.

We’ve got you covered with a rundown of the best spots in the Brownstone Belt. Who’ve you got?

FORT GREENE

Black Forest Brooklyn (733 Fulton Street)
This openly partisan pro-German beer garden is going all out for Euro 2016, a mere two years after Germany claimed the World Cup. There’s a happy hour kickoff party on June 10 as well as a brunch on June 12 in honor of Germany’s first game of the tourney. Black Forest is owned by a pair of Germans who met and fell in love in Brooklyn, and together they brought their own beer into the world.

Mullanes Bar and Grill (71 Lafayette Avenue)
Mullane’s has nine large high definition televisions and a spectacular happy hour special. They’ve also known to have a pretty great Oscars party, so this is definitely a place that knows how to celebrate a special occasion.

Der Schwarze Kölner (710 Fulton Street)
Fort Greene is lucky enough to have a pair of terrific beer gardens within very close proximity. DSK standout is right by BAM, and this beer garden even changed its name to reflect its close ties to the community. Get a giant beer (or smaller if, you know, you want to) and a sausage while you’re at it.

Black Horse Pub (568 5th Avenue at 16th Street.)
Park Slope standby Black Horse has 16 seasonal beers on tap and plenty of television sets. Try the shepherd’s pie.

The Monro Pub (481 5th Avenue)
If you’re a Liverpool fan, you’re probably acquainted with this utterly delightful English spot, named after the owner’s favorite spot in England. If you haven’t gone yet, now is your chance. Armed with a backyard, a jukebox, pinball, and board games, there will be plenty to do even if the match turns into a total blowout.

Paddy’s of Park Slope (273 13th Street)
Owned by natives of County Tipperary, this Irish pub is a fantastic spot to catch a game. They’ve got a great selection of beer and, more importantly, there’s a pizza oven.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS

Woodwork (583 Vanderbilt Avenue)
Head over to Prospect Heights to watch a match at this erstwhile Arsenal bar. Woodwork has a laid back atmosphere and a thoroughly decent menu.
