Vision Zero Town Hall Coming To Park Slope Next Week

Join the Park Slope Street Safety Partnership and Councilmember Brad Lander for a Vision Zero Town Hall Meeting on Monday, April 21 at 6pm at PS 321 at 180 7th Avenue, between 1st and 2nd Streets.

If you’ve got questions or concerns about traffic calming measures in our neighborhood and around the city, you’ll have the opportunity to provide feedback and identify dangerous spots as representatives from the Department of Transportation, the NYPD, the Taxi & Limousine Commission, and the Mayor’s Community Assistance Unit will be on hand to provide an update on the city’s Vision Zero Action Plan.

The Park Slope Street Safety Partnership, which first came together at the end of last year, has an initiative underway called Kids Rely on Safe Streets in the 78th Precinct. It’s an interactive map where neighbors can mark places where you’ve seen “unsafe behavior and conditions that threaten the safety of pedestrians, people on bikes, and people in motor vehicles,” and the plan is to help fix those issues.

From lowering speed limits to adding red light cameras, we know a lot of neighbors already have some ideas to help improve safety in our area — what are some of yours?
