Violent Home Invasion On 39th Street Leaves One Hospitalized; Police Looking For Three Suspects
After police said a home invasion ended in a 35-year-old man being shot in his apartment on 39th Street, by Fort Hamilton Parkway, late Saturday night, cops are on the lookout for three male suspects they say are responsible for the violent crime.
According to the NYPD, the three unidentified men, two of whom were armed, busted into the second-floor apartment a little after 11pm Saturday night. PIX11 reported that at least one round was fired through a closed bedroom door, hitting the 35-year-old victim’s left thigh. The man was transported to Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition, officials said.
Police did not provide descriptions of the suspects, who cops said made off with about $2,000 in cash.
The home invasion has left neighbors more than a little shaken on this normally quiet street.
“I’ve lived here for 30 years and I have never heard of something like this happening here,” Beatrice Suarez, a neighbor, told PIX11 News.
The 66th Precinct is investigating the crime. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
