Urban Martial Arts to Expand Next Door

Congratulations to Urban Martial Arts, which is planning to expand its Coney Island Avenue school to include the former medical office next door. They’ll begin construction at the end of the month to knock down the wall between the spaces. From their blog:

When the work is done, we’ll have more than doubled the size of Urban Martial Arts!

Not only will our mat be bigger to accommodate more students per class, but we’ll have twice as much seating for parents and family members.

We’ll also have a large classroom on the main floor dedicated to our after-school program, so we will no longer be using the room in the basement.

They’ll be closed for renovations from Monday, August 27 through Wednesday, September 5, and will re-open on Thursday, September 6, just in time for the new school year.
