Upcoming Closures Of 9th Street Bridge

If you drive across the Gowanus via the 9th Street Bridge from time to time, a heads up that the Department of Transportation will be closing it to traffic in both directions on the following dates:

  • Saturday, August 16, 6am-6pm
  • Sunday, August 17, 6am-6pm
  • Thursday, August 21, 11pm-5am (Rain date August 20)
  • Thursday, August 28, 11pm-5am (Rain date August 27)

They’ll be continuing to “refurbish rocker bearing pins and installing a sprinkler system to alleviate bridge expansion in summer heat,” according to a flyer provided to Community Board 6.

As an alternative, you can get across the canal via the Hamilton Avenue and 3rd Street bridges.
